Keen to try approaching Headstand in a compassionate way that is patient and respectful of your ability? Want to fine tune and deepen your stability in Headstand?
In this workshop you will learn how to approach a headstand (Sirsasana) in a safe and effective way, using proper body alignment with emphasis on how to work with balance, core strength, and structural alignment. We will start slowly, building up through appropriate warm-ups and strengthening exercises, taking into consideration levels of experience and giving you the necessary building blocks to move towards your appropriate experience of headstand.
Called the ‘King of the Asana‘, Headstand is one of the most profound postures for physical, mental and spiritual benefits and requires a little strength but mostly conquering of fear and belief that you can do it. Inversions bring us directly into the unknown. Here we can meet our fears from a different perspective and, by conquering them, gain a deep sense of satisfaction and self confidence. So maybe you might not conquer the pose in this one session but we will learn how best to approach it, where your edge is and have fun trying!
This workshop is for non-beginners with minimum 6 months practice. If you suffer from high blood pressure, have a neck/spine injury or have eye problems e.g. surgery or glaucoma we advise not to do this workshop.
